Account Assistant

Location: Surry Hills, Sydney

Work Type: Full-time, 12-mth contract from September 2017 onwards (looking for immediate start)

Salary: Suited to:

  • A PR / Communications student who has graduated within the last two years
  • With at least 1 year exp preferably in agency / consultancy environment. Consecutive, highly relevant internships will be considered

You've studied hard and started work in communications  / PR but wonder how'll you can create work that isn't just great, but is also great for the world - and that's why you need to join us at The Bravery.

We are seeking a switched-on, confident, recent entrant to the workforce to join our growing team, working with us to take our brilliant campaigns into the world so everyone knows about them. 

At The Bravery, we invest in our team so you get a range of experience across the PR / Communications spectrum. There is no average day, but it might look a little like this, all with the support and mentoring from team:

  • Daily research and media scans of content relating to agency accounts, providing insights to team members
  • Creating content for, and managing, social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for both The Bravery and various partners
  • Learning from, and connecting with, media and influencers
  • Taking brilliant campaign and turning them into smart stories, seeing them come to life in media and social platforms
  • Getting in front of clients that are change-making brands and learning from highly experienced managers on how to manage accounts and campaigns
  • Bringing your creativity to life through all-team brainstorming and ideation
  • Creative writing and development of a range of materials / content

Qualifications, experience and personality selection criteria:

  • Previous internship or work experience in the PR sector (minimum 1-year in total)
  • PR / Communications degree, diploma or certificate (essential – or demonstrated previous PR work experience)
  • Strong desire to work in purpose / social cause and sustainability sector
  • Knowledge of the media industry and communications disciplines
  • Understanding of social media channels and basic activations
  • Experience with MS / MAC Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interest in learning and strong desire to increase professional skills
  • Strong motivation to progress to an Account Executive role
  • Interest in helping to promote positive environmental and social change

Professional and Personal Development: You will be supported, beyond the day-to-day, to develop your personal and professional skills at The Bravery. This will take the form of mentoring from the Senior Management team, and attending internal training sessions on sustainability and other communications disciplines through our tailored training program. There is a dedicated individual and team yearly professional development funded package for this.
