Account Manager

Location: Surry Hills, Sydney

Work Type: Full-time from April 2018 onwards (looking for immediate start, with consideration for notice period)

Salary: Suited to media and PR practitioner with at least three (3) years, full-time exp, within an agency / consultancy environment

We are seeking a confident earned sector and accounts professional to join our growing team, working at a beginning mid-tier level in account management, execution and strategy implementation of a number of key new accounts across our sustainability and for-purpose clients.

What your time at The Bravery would look like: 

  • Each day bringing to life and running your client's accounts
  • Commanding meetings with smart agendas and great client facilitation
  • Using your project management skills through project plans, WIPs, budget mastery and reporting
  • Implementing by working with a team to generate copy, materials, content and research for your client's projects
  • Working with media, influencers and stakeholders to achieve strategic goals, and develop new opportunities
  • Bring your ideas to the team and seeing the bigger picture goals on what makes a project / campaign / retainer - successful
  • Problem solving, being a predictive support and jumping on challenge
  • Contributing to the environment and team around you by being a strong positive force
  • Managing an implementing team to help everyone make your projects successful
  • Mentoring and training, sharing your skills with the team
  • Developing new business opportunities
  • Managing and or attending relevant client events
  • Bring your great work or ideas to life in compelling presentatins
  • Managing data and being data-driven in your work

Qualifications, experience and personality selection criteria:

  • 3-4 years full-time communications experience, particularly in an agency environment and managing accounts
  • Good knowledge of the traditional and digital media industry, plus some sustainability / social cause sector desirable
  • Expertise in MS / MAC Office, Keynote and strong excel experience
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Positive, pro-active, helpful persona
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and workload during peak campaign periods
  • A demonstrated interest in helping to promote positive change
  • Driven to meet deadlines
  • Contact list of ‘go-to’ media and influencer contacts is essential (especially in Australia's media landscape)
  • Having initiative, and autonomous work style, with other team members and when delivering on the big goals
  • Extensive previous experience delivering campaigns across national and state / territory regions, in both consumer and corporate audiences
  • Experience in working with a junior team member/s would be valuable but not essential
  • Interest in learning and strong desire to increase professional skills through self learning and formal development (paid by The Bravery)
  • Communications / PR degree or diploma desirable
  • Demonstrated interest in progressing into a more senior roles in the agency in the long term

This will take the form of mentoring from the Senior Management team, and attending internal training sessions on sustainability and other communications disciplines through our tailored training program.
